NOTICE OF INTUNTION TO MATTF ' AND LEYY EATES. ^OTICE IS HEEEBY GIVEN that the Hastings Borough Council will, at a meeting of the Council to be held on THUBSDAY, the 8th day of July, 1937, make and levy the following rates, that is to say: — (1) A CONSOLIDATED BATE under section 96 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933" of SEVEN AND THBEE TENTHS PENCE IN THE POUND (7.3d) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) • of all rateable property appearing on the Valuation Boll of the Borough of Hastings, such consolidated rate being levied in lieu of the following rates: — (a) A General Eate of 3.2d'in the £. (b) A Library Bate of .15d in the £. (c) A Special Bate of 2.5d in the £_ to provide Interest and Sinking Fund on the following loans: — Conversion Loan No. 1, £51,100; Conversion Loan No. 2, £252,100; State Advances Loan, £78,000; Nelson Park Loan, £5,800; Sewerage Loan, £34,000. (d) Hawke's Bay Bivers Board Bate of .13d. in the £. (e) A Hospital Itete of l,18d in the £. (f) Napier Harbour Board Bate of .14d in the £. (2) A WATEB BATE on the Unimproved value under section 84 of "Municipal Corporations Act, 1933" for the purpose of providing Interest
aua oinKing runa on the Water Department's proportion of the Council's Conversion Loans, and the Maintenance of the Water Works as follows: — (a) On all land and buildings used as dwelling houses to which water is supplied, a rate of 1.2d in the £. ,(b) On all land and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, situated within 100 yards of any part of the Waterworks, and on all buildings used as Stores or Warehouses, or for any .purpose other than as a dwelling house a rate of .6d in the £.
The Mimmum Water Eate under paragiaph (a) to be Ten Shillings and under paragraph (b) Five Shillings. The whole of the above-mentioned rates are for the period commencing on the 1st day of April, 1937 and ending on the 31st day of March, 1938, and will be due and payable in one sum at the offices of the Council, Hastings Street, Hastings, on MONDAY, the 2nd day of August, 1937.
