Large Crowd at Porangahau

PORANGAHAU, This Day. The Porangahau branch of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association held its annual ball in the Porangahau Town Hall on Friday evening. The hall, which was gaily decorated with flags and greenery, was filled to capacity, and the committee expect to clear, a good sum. Music was provided by Anderson's orchestra, and the supper was provided and dispensed by the ladies' committee. Major Clifton and Mr O'Connor made efficient M.O.'s. McKenzie, royal blue velvet • Mrs Thompson, rust velyet ; Mrs Black, wine satin, with lace to match; Mrs O'Connor, \iine marocain; Mrs Thomas, black crepe de chine; Mrs Somerville, coronation blue crepe; Mrs Rickey, white satin; Mrs Rumbal, blue crepe ; Mrs McCallum, floral crepe de chine; Mrs Thelwell, browa lace; Mrs Redward, navy blue marocain ; Mys Blair, white crepe; Mrs O'Reilly, red lace, worn over black satin; Mrs Wilson, black satin; Mrs W. Paterson, floral ma.rocain ; Mrs R.
