The Hastings branch of the Red Cross Society is making special endeavours this year to ensuro that the annual ball to be lield on Friday, July 2, in the Hastings Assembly Hall is an unqualified success. The work of tho society is Avell known, and each year the committeo looks forward to obtaining tho support of all members and friends both in Napier and Hastings. Particular attention is paid to equipment for tho firstaid and home-nursing classcs, tho provision of first-aid outfits on the highways, clothing for families in distress, reorganisation of Junior Red Cross in tho schools, etc. Broadly speaking, the Red Cross Society is the world 5s greatest humanitarian organisation, and all who would lielp this society to play the part it should in New Zealand are cordially invited to make up parties for the Hastings annual ball. Tickets can be procured at Griffith's Shoe Store, H. J. Grieve, jeweller, and Noel Wilson5s Pharmaey, Hastings, or from Miss E. King, Hurst 's Building, Emerson street, Napier. Forty and over.
