TRAFFIC BREACHES

Napier Prosecutions Breaches of the traflic regulations were dealt with by fines by Mr. J. Mlller. S.M., in the Hapier Magistrate's Court yesterday. Alfred Neville Smith, of. Wellington, clerk,- was -fined £5 for negligent driving,. and an order was made endorsing 1ms licence. Genior-Sergeant W. Pender said that •tlie car driven by defendant was proceeding across the Clive Bridge and, when almost across on the wrong side of the road collidcd with another vehicle, damaging it elightly. "It appears to be a case of negligenee," commented the Magistrate. Charged with driving an omnibus along Hydergibad road without due eare and attention, C. C. Howard, of Napier, driver, was fined 10/-, with 10/costs. Frederick George Goss, of Hastings, driver, uas charged with stopping an omnibus at an intersection on the Ma'rine Pafado. On the applicafciou of Mr. C. W. Nash, tbc information was dismiseed under 'section' 09 of "the Justices of the Peace Act. John Augustus Jepnes, of Napier, butcher, was fined 15/-, with 10/- costs, for riding an unlighted bicyele at night. Jack Alfred Eric Weine, of Hastings, salosman, was fined £l 10/-, with 10/costs, for operating an unlicensed vehicle 'and a similar amount for failing to give way to traffic approaching from the right at an intersection.
