WAIPAWA REGENT

Grand Double Bill To-morrow Two "top-liners" will be featured on Wednesday night's programme at the Waipawa Regent. A sparkling modern romance, woven about a young millionaire 'o efforts to induce a girl to marry him for himself and not for his money, is pictured in "Smartest Girl ;n Town," starring Gene Raymond and Ann Sothern. Raymond, as the wcalthy young man, has experienced a series of unpleasant situations which cause' him to shy away from girls with a gold digging complex. Hence, when Miss Sothern mietakes him for a poor photographer's model like herself, Gene continues the masquerade, especially when he learns that she as ccntring her uffeetions on an affluent young man. Once again . the ' ' Three Musketeers of Mirth" — Tom Walls, Ralpy Lynn and Robertson Hare — come to the Ecreen in "Pot Luek," a farcical story bubbling with lively com-edy. These three have been together . for many years now, and they have built up. a reputatiou for kilarious farce that is well-nigh unique. Ben Trayers, who is responsdble for tho story aud dialogue, , can always be relied upon to give a 1 good plot. As is inevitable in all tbe Walls-Lynn comedies, much of the hilarity is invested in the characterisations. In "Pot Luck" the principals are well up to thoir staudard of foolery, and provido ontertainment of thc richest.
