Plane Runs Out of Petrol

OBRISTCHUECH, Last Night. Engaged on its last flight after the air pageant to-day one of the Canter- . bury Aero Club's machines ran out of petrol and made a forced landing iii north Hagley Park near the Christchurch public hospital about 4.30 p.m. No one was injured and the aeroplane was undamaged. The machine was a monospar ZK-AET, flnown by Mr. J. Killian, assistant instructor to the Club. Mr. Killian had looked at the petrol gauge and found that there were lo gallons remaining^according to the indicator. Shortly ofterwards the engine cut out over the city and he was obliged to make a forced landing. Tho discovery Was then made that tho gauge had blocked and that the machine 's tank was einpty. Ofiicials of the Aero Club immediately sent petrol in to the park and the maahine was back at the club grounds by 5.30, being brought in with the aid of a landing light.
