EASY WIN TO KIWI
Saturday7s Hockey Series in Napier SCINDE BEAT TARADALE HeBvy jgrounds made but little difference to tbe ' play in the hockey matches on Saturday at Nelson Park, Napier. *The crowd watching the games was not quite as large .as usual. The senior games in the men's seetion wete both fast and interesting, bfit whereas the game between Scinde and Taradale was very even that between Kiwi and Waratah was mucb rnore one-sided. In the former game both sides* play'ed a fast forward attaeking game in the flrst spell without piercing the other 's defence, but in the second Bpell Duke, for Scinde, got one past Taradale 's goalie, who had saved his side in several previous sallies by the Whites. The first half of the Kiwi-Waratah game saw Kiwi almost constantly on the offensive, and the Waratah defence was not equal to keeping them out..In the second spell Waratah took 'a turn at attacking and notched three goals, Ieaviiig Kiwi winnera by a margin of four. The women 'a sOniof games wefe less eseitiag. i The Napier-Huia game, played on Nelson park, showed the Napier team in an improved light, and they had the advantage of the play from the outset. AlthoUgh Huia defended well in the main, they wero unable to keep the Napier forwards out altogether, and Napifer won by three goals to nil. At Clive, Technical Old Girls met the Clive team and an even game resulted. Each side was responsible for some good forward play, which, however, 1 generally broke down when the circle was reached^ The backs played well. A goal was registered by. each side, the game thus eiiding in a draw. liesults were: — SENIOR WOMEN. Napior (3) v. Huia (nil). Clive (1) v. Technical Old Girls (1). SENIOR MEN. Scinde (1) v.
