MATCH AT TAKAPAU
Waipawa Juniors Defeat Takapau WAJJPAWA, This Day. With a team weakened by the absence of the usual players, whose places had beeix filled with boys from the iocal school, the Waipawa juniors, piaying on the lteserve at Takapau, secured a win over Takapau B Juniors by 15 points to 8. The game in the first spell was very even, the hall-time whistle finding Takapau with a lead of four points, the seoro being 8 — 4 Upon resummg, the Waipawa team, with the wind and sun in its favour, began to find its feet, and for the greater part of the second lialf dominated the play. Waipawa's points came from a field goal by McCleary in the first spell, and a penalty kick by Hopkins ,and tries by McCleary and Robertson, the latter try being converted by Smith. For Takapau J. Anderson and Millett
scored, the latter's try being converted by Niara. Despite its weakeued condition the Waipawa team played a very fine game, the importations revealing good lorin. The forwards played exoeptionally well, the most prominent being Christensen and Watson. The services of Grant were piissed at half-back, the schooll>oy, Collett, however, piaying a very fine game.
