SUCCESSFUL CONCERT

Napier South Presbyterian Church A most interesting and suceessful variety concert was presented at the Napier South Presbyterian Church hall by the combined Bible classes. Under the ieadership of Mrg MacNiven a diversified programme was presented, and the enjoyment and keen interest of the audience were sustained to the end by a performance highly commendable for its quality and the efflciency of its presentation. The programme was as follows: Glees, by the entire company; "The Window," a parody on the seuior members by the juniors; songs, MiSs N. Wyness, "Pink Petty from Peter" and "Little Mr Baggy Breeches"; medley and "Drifting and Dreaming," the Harmonica Band; songs in costume, "Sergeant Jock McPheo,,% Mr S. Dunstall; sougs, "Dre.ssed in Your Gowu of Blue Brocade," and "Littlo Cruok* ed Town," Miss Iv. Galbraith; humorous sketcli, "Siuile Please," Messrs T. Drowden, W. Oliver, and D. Christie; selectious, "Swanee River" aud "A Jig," the Harmoniea. Band; duets, "If you u ei'e the Only Girl in the Wirld," and "lYhen I Grow too Old to Dreani, " Miss J. Taylor and Mr K. Gordon; Highland dances, Mr K. A-heatii ; songs, "By the Wa lers of Minnetonka" and "A Heart That's Free," Miss A. Laurenson; one-act play, "The Dear Departed," Misses K. Timms, ,T. Taylor and D. Bateup and Messrs W. Oliver, R. Galbraith and N. Atkinson j monologuea, "Ain't It Fair "

and "Soliloquy of a Tramp," Mr S. Dunstall ; songs, "Song of the High^ way," and "This '11 Make You Wkistle," Mr R. Baggett; three Maori seeues, "Pokarekare" (ehorus), "Hoki Hoki" (duet) and "Haere Ra" (duet and chorus). The chairman, the Rev. E. H. Kedg* ley, thanked the audience for braving the weather and expressed the gratitude of all presbnt to Mrs MacNiven for her untirfng efforts, which had been so erowned with suecess. Mrs MacNiven was then presented with a bou* quet from the company, and a must en« joyable evening was brought to a con-« clusion. :
