in this story which appeared recently in a national magazine. Of nnusual interest, the screen play deals with the adventures of Ayres in his attempts to solve one of the biggest mysteries of ,-the day and the consequences which oceur when he beeomes antimately involved in the affair. Elorence Rice, featured with Ayres, is the mystery woman in the cast. With several others, sbe is striving to gain possession of a eertain five-dollar bill which bears a code message revealing where the money ds hidden. The cast of excellent performers endow the picture with swift, smooth action, breathless suspense and plenty of excitement. D. Ross Lederman 's direction of Harold Shumate's screen play is excellent. ''Heroes of the Range," a fast action western, starring Ken Maynard, is the second feature on the programma.
