Binnie Barnes has been signed to play Daisy in Yictor Saville's "A Bicycle Built For Two. ' ' The story is by R. C. Sherriff, and Rex Harrison has the leading mascoiiinc role. Metro-Goldwyn Mayer are preparing "Stand TJp and Fight," an open-air melodrama of the pioneering days in the West. James Stewart and Wallace Beery will be teamed in it. Sophie Tucker will sing "Some of These Days" in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's "Big Broadcast of 1937." She tlrst sang tbe song dn 1911. Her other song in the picture will be "Your Broadway and Mine." Douglas MacLean, former comedian, has left Grand Nabiohal^ for whom he -produced "Pluck of the Irish"" and "234 Hourts' Leave," and will possibly produce independently for United Artists. * Jean Arthur and Columbia are engaged in a legal battle over her eontraet. The studio claim that Mies Arthur 's contract with them still has a year to xun and that she may not work for other companies without permission from Columbia. Grand bJational have bought the rights -of four Gilbert and Sullivan songs — ono eaeh from "Pinaforo," "Tlio Pirates of Pcnzance," "The hlikado," and "Ruddigore." Tlio songs will be incorporated in "The Girl Says No," with Robert Arm!strong and Grace Bradlcy starring. — Bi'J
