Inadequate Accommodation in Hastings OFFICERS ELECTED The need for new rooms for bousing j the Plunket Society in Hastmgs was j stressed at the society s annual meet ing yesterday by tbe president, Miss Elsie Williams. The present accommodation, she said, was qujte inadequate. *»We do not want to break away from the Borough Council, which^has provided us with tbese rooms, Miss. Wi'Iiams said, "but they are not large enongh and I do not think the council is prepared to extend them. We . get lafger Tooms or our work will go backwards." She paid tribute to the valuable work of the late Mrs J. H. WxlLamn and the late Mrs Henley, Mr E. V. Simpson, seconding ths» adoption of the balance sheet, drew attention to the proceeds of over £252 which had resulted from the _ photographic competition held during the year and mentioued tho society 's /ndebtedness to the committee responsible for this.
