Travelling inore than 12,000 iniles to attend the Linoleum Laying School ccnducted by the Armstrong Cork Company at its linoleum factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Gordon Christie (left), junior menibcr of tho ilrm of A Christie and Sons, Ltd., Hastings, was welcomed to Lancaster recently by J L Knipe" (right), assistant director of Armstrong 's foreign saies. In a lettef to the "Herald-Tribune" the Armstrong Co. states: — "Young Christie came more than half way ronnd the world especially to learn how lo inslall custom-built linoleum floors, which have only recently
, Liecn int^oduced 'Way Down Lndor.' He is studying new methods under J. C. Hartman in the school 's own twostorey plant. Ilundreds of students have been trained at the school since it was started in 1924, when new methods were being introduced, such as felt-layer installations. The majority of students are sent to Lancaster by their firms to takc the course in improved methods of laying floors. During his stay in Lancaster, Mr. Christie will also receive training in Arini strong 's Bureau of Eetail Meychandising, Bureau of Interior Decoration and ' Advcrtising Department." — P.B.A.
