Unrehemrsed Show ior Theafre Patrons DESTRUCTION OF STOCK Patrons of the Mayfair Theatre, Napier, were treated to an unrehearsed show as they left the building a little before 11 o'clock last evening. As the audience began to stream out of the door, the fire-engine arrived at full tpeed to a fire which had broken out on the premises of the Central News Agency next the theatre and was rapidly gaining a firm hold on laree quantities of magazines and papers. In response to a telephone call, the Napier Oentral Fire Brigade arrived ou the scene and found that the fire, which i3 believed to ha-ve originated in a waste-paper basket near the wall, had gained a firm hold on a wooden partition, and in a large pile of newspapers knd magazines, whieh were blazing freely. Forcing an entrance through the glass panel of a door, the brigade used a small hose on the fire and made a very good save. The lo*ss of stock and damage to other magazines by water are covered by insuranca.
