The finest sieve made has 130,000 holes to the square inch. It is made of woveii wire, the fabric consisting of 425 wires running in each direction. This is finer than textile fabrics are woven. The wire is less than onethousandth oi' an inch in diameter, or finer than human hair. The fabric, made im Neustadt, Germany, is used for sifting powders and straining liquids.
