Visitmg Tuberculosis Officer. Dr. Hugh Short, visiting tuberculosis cfficer for the Waipawa Hospital Board, is at present engaged in his periodical •iusuection of patients at Pukeora Sanatorium. His next round of visits to tuberculosis clinics in the East Coast area commences wih a visit to the clinics at Hastings and Napier on July 21 and 26 respectively. Hospital Patients. Patients in the various institutious of the Waipawa Hospital Board still remain over the 200 mark. There are 208 patients as at to-day 's date, of which 132 are at the Pukeora Sanatorium, 70 at the Waipukurau District Hospital and six at the Eathbone Maternity Hospital, Waipawa. Oporations at Waipukurau Hospital. Forty-three operations were performed at ihe Waipukurau District Hospital during the past month, of which number 16 were major ones and 27 minor. Donations Acknowledged. Public acknowledgement is made by the matron of the Waipukurau District Hospital to the following for gifts during the past month: Mrs Sutton (Waipukurau), books; Mrs H. Hooper (Arlington), mushrooms; Mrs E. B. Tod (Waipukurau), mushrooms; Mrs R. P. Wilder (Wallingford), books; Mrs E. Swain (Waipawa), linen; Hatuma Women's Institute, flowers. Taradale Card Evening. Tho Taradale Social Club's weekly card evening was again very successful. Prize-winners were: Mrs E. J. Jeffares, Westshore, iirst and special in the ladies' section, Mrs Browu, Napier, socond; gentlemen, Mr W. White iirsfc, Mr Seal second. Tenders Accepted. At the monthiy meeting of the Waipawa County Gouucil, tenders as follows were accepted: — Supply of tyres, Eui'opa PeLrol Service, Waipawa; supply oi' petrol,' W. J. Yardley (Ongaonga). and Liiubrick Bros. (Waipawa); supply of oil, Wakefield Company ( Wellington). The arrangenient entered into at the meeting between the intereeted parties and the engineer aqd riding members with regard to Perry's drain in the Kainiotuuiotu block was coiillnned. Authority was giveu to replace 200 trees on the county resorve at Sherwood.
