WEATHER SAVES MIDDLESEX
N.Z.'s Creditable Performance (Received 16, 10.35 a.m.) LONDON, June 15. fhe special correspondent of the (Jniled Press Association with the New Zealand cricketers says that the Evenmg Standard, perhaps the most reliable of evening papers, says that the weather probably saved the dignity of Middlesex, as the situation was very promising for the New Zealanders. The return game with Lancashrre at Preston, where the wieket may be isporting, will be a hard match, as will be the matches against Notts, at Notingh&m, a two-day fixture, and Norfolk, at Norwich, which will precede the first Test. The English critics are now much mere ready to concede the New Zealanders a chance of making an even showing' following the creditable porfonnance against Middlesex.
