Offering at Waipukurau Sale To-day GOOD STORE SHEEP LINES A particularly small yarding of sheep and cattle was submitted to buyers at the weekly stock sale at Waipukurau to-day. Tfie i'at cattle "offered were of ordinary quality only, most of tfie lots being unffniefied- in condition. Tfi* prices, generally, for tfiese lines, were on a par with recent quotations, not counting those at Stortford Lodge * fortnight ago, when a shorfc market and tfie prospect of a.fioliday last Wednesday forced prices to fiigfi levels. There wero only a few pens of store v cattle, which met with a better inquiry than of late. The fat sheep pens were composed chiefly of second quality ewea and lambs, with price* firm on laet week's sale. The store sfieep section * had some exceptionally good lines of ewe lambs, one pen of sfiorr ewe lambs, offered on account Mr J. Hamilton, Argyle, selling at 29/1. Realisations were ,hs under i— FAT CATTLE. A medium-framed well-finished line of P.A. Hereford eros* cows, offered on account of the estate J. Y. Wilson, sold at £6 4/-. On account of same vendor, a line of Hereford cows, also well finished and medium framed fetched £6 12/-. A bid of £6 17/- secured an entry of P.A.-Hereford cows in fair condition. A line of plain, unfinished PolledHereford cows, aold for £5 16/-, STORE SHEEP. On account of Mr. Robert Matthews, a pen of 4 and 5-yr. ewes, i.l. to S.D., sold for 26/-. Tfiese ewes, 234 in nnmber, we^e down from the Wakararas, big framed, in good order but a bit strong in the wool. , A line of 360 woolly wether hoggets, rather small and fairly light in condition, a good fiold-over proposition, sold well at 15/10. A pen of exceptionally well-grown sfiorn ewe hoggets, in from the Argyle district, on account of Mr. J.-P. Hamilton, went for 29/1. Another outstanding line of woolly ewe lambsi, from the Wakararas, sold for 28/7. These wero a well-grown and healthy lot. A pen of 144 4, 6 and 8-rth Romney ewe (r.w. Rom.), in good store condition, fetched 28/-. A line of 150 fat and forward whit* face wether hoggets, well-grown and in * healthy condition, met the market at 18/-. A pen of 103 similar hoggets, offered on account of same, vendor j fetched 17/8. A pen of 18 Romney wethers, ma» dium-grown, sold at 27/9. Two blaek-face wethers, well. finished, good -prime quality mUtton, fetched 32/-. ' ' " STORE CATTLE. A line of 12 P.A.-Hereford weanet heifers, in medium condition onlyi made £3 1/-. A bid of £5 7/6 purchased a line of * P.A.-Hereford cows in fairly good tsord condition. Seven Hereford 18-month ' heiferg sold at £3 18/6. -These also were in medium condition only. Five Hereford cows, in hardy stora condition and in calf to P.A. bull, brought £4. . , Four Polled-Hereford cross cows, m . calf to a P.A. bull, went for £5 8/-* These were in good store condition., In the same lot, two cull Jersey cows, in calf to P.A. bull, but light iu' condition, sold for £2. Down from the ranges, a line of nine. P.A.-Hereford cross weaner steers, 1 small and in rather ordinary store con- - dition, sold well at £4 9/-. 1 Twenty empty Hereford cows, fairly framed and in forward! store condition, young cattle, fetched £5 10/-. FAT SHEEP. * A pen of small black-fficed. lambs, 1 nine in number, and all unfinished, sold for 17/6. A line of second-quality Down-cros* lambs, well woolled, passed at 19/6.
