Armstrong, speaking afc the Labour JLnternational Conlerence said that New Zealand once led tho world in social reform and would not rest until she regained that proud position. JVlr Armstrong detaiied ihe New Zcaland Govermnent's reforins wliicJi n ed to remove entirely fear and want. rlo added: "When these reforms were proposed the employers feared ruin, but now the employers and workers are more prosperOus than ever before.5' The Government proposed to ratify such of the Labour conference5s eonventions which were applicable to New Zealand, whichi would collaborate closely with the conference. He hoped that New Zealand would obtain membership of the goveming body and also that a director or representative would shortly visit New Zealand.
