Hastings Placed Third in Dannevirke Rally WIN TO SCOTTISH On Saturday the Hastings Harrier Club's representativeg journeyed to Danevirke to attend .the 'annual harrier rally. There were also teams present from Napier, Wanganui, Scottish (Wellington) and Kiatere (Masterton).. There were races for K and B teams over a 6^-mile course, the results being as follow: — A team contest. — Scottish, 20 points, 1; Wanganui, 34 points, 2; Hastings, 40 points, 3; Kiatere, 44 points, 4; Napier, 86 points, 5. Individual placings. — J. Reddington (Scot.), time 36min. llsecs , 1; H. E. Taylor (Hastings) 37min. 30secs., 2, G. Bells (Wanganui), 37min. 53secs. 3; K. Johnson (Wanganui), 37min, 55secs. 4; J. Bartlett (Scottish), 37min. 57secs. 5. The remaining Hastings runners finished as follow :--G. Ready 9th., P. Anderson 13th., P. Bonner 16th., and A. Robertson 18th. B teams contest. —Palmerston North Y.M.C.A., 22 points, 1; Wanganui, 40 points, 2; Hastings, 61 points, 3. The individual placings were. — J. Mclntyre (Dannevirke), time 38min. 35 secs,, 1; P. Golloway (P.N. Y.M.C.A.) 39mins. 22secs., 2; K. McDonald (Kiatere), *39mins. 40secs. 3; J. Scott (P.N. Y.M.C.A.) 4; N. Hearsey (P.N. Y.M.C.A.) 39m in. 50secs. and A. Taylor (Hastings), equal 5. After tlie race a dinner was lield at the Dannevirke Town- Hall. !{, was a sparkljng function. In the evening a most successful and enjoyablo dance was held at the • de Buxe Hall. There will be a walk to the Peak on Wednesday evening, oonimencinfr from the G.P.O. at 7 o'clock. % THURSDAY DIVISION Last week the Thursday division held its ninth official run from ' Windsor Park. The trail followed St. George's road and across country to Karamu creek. On the way home more open country was traversed, the paper leading to Grove road for the final run hjoine to the park. The run-in resulted , as follows : — R. Tucker 1, T. Manley 2, A. de Frere 3. Next Thursday's ru'n will be from St. Andrew's Sunday Schpol at 2.30 p.m.
