Takapau and Home Side Draw
(From
WAIPAWA, Tuis Bay. Tho weather conditious wero perfect for the junior match on Coronation Park, Waipawa, on Saturday afternoon betwoen the Waipawa and Takapau A teams, tlie ground being in perfect con-
dition and there being no wind. A fast and interesting game resulted in a draw, each side scoring six points from uhconverted tries. For Waipawa Sturm scored after a few minutes play, and in the second spell Meha also scored a very fine try after kicking the ball from just inside the Takapau territory, following through and securing the ball to cross tho lino botween the posts. Both the Takapau tries came in the second spell, one by Drake, and the second by Williams within a few minutes of time, thus equalising the score. Tlre Waipawa team played well, Sturm, Fair and McCleary being prooiinent in the back division, and Grant again giving a splendid exhibition of football at half -back. The forwards did not seem to be packing at well as usual, and misscd the bustling lcadership of Kelly Martin. Mr. J. Jeffrey refereed. o "Unofflcial Scrumtnage." ' There was a considerable amount of barrack from the side line at times, which appeared to upset several members of the Takapau team; so.much so that when time was called they were rather averse to giving the cu^tomarv cheers. The feeling continued to pjevail aftor the players left the field, with the result that several players became involved in an ' ' unofficial scrummage."
