"1937 REVEILLE" TO BE PRODUCED IN HASTINGS
More than 200 perfoiuners are rehearsing daily-' for the musical extravaganza ".The. 1937 Reveille," which is beihg produced by Mr. W. Lints for the Red Cross Society. Mr. Lints is no stranger to- Hawke's Bay, and his memorabl^ "Reveilles" are still .fresh in the memories of many. Mr. Lints travels ,no less than £1000 worth'of scenery, wardrobe, ele'etrical effccts and properties for his new production. Following is an" extraet from the Christchurch Presa: — "It is hardly necessary to "point out that in ' Our Reveille' an entertainment is proparod which represents a standard in amateur production hitherto undreamCd' of, so far as Christchurch' is concerned." There will be 44 different.attractione, features- and specialties, 'including eight distinctive ballets, "20 song- succeSaes, all supported by strong choruses or special 'dances, -nine clever sketches arid playetsj specialty nuinbers. > More than '500 different costumes will 'be worn at the opeming perfprmance in the Municipal Theatre. Mr. Lints is delighted with the local performers and promises a city production: A feature of the New Reveille will be the scenery and lighting effects. The opening scene is- easier seen than described. The second half opens with a spectaeuldr night-club scene, and the final attraction, in which 180 performers will be seen in action at one time, cannot ,be better explained than a brilliant stage spectaele. The seaeon will open'in the second week of July.
