OPEN TO PUBLIC

Napier Public Hospital Inquiry F0RTY WITNESSES Apart from tbe fact that the commission bas tbe power to order tbe suppre'sion of the names of witnesses or others if thouglit desirable and also to take any portion of the evidence in camera if considered necesSary, the session of tbe Rpyal Commission • commencing in Napier* on Monday to inquire into" tbe administration of the Napier Public Hospital will be open to tbe public and to tbe Press. An announcement to this effect was made yesterday from Wellington by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., who has been appointed tbe chairman of tbe commission. It is at present anticipated that the hearing of the lengthy evidence of 40 -witnesses will occupy the ..commission for a fortnight, and the report of the commission will probably be prepared and issued in Wellington some time after tbe close of tbe commission' s session. -Because of tbe wide scope of the inquiry, considerable time will , have to ge given to the preparing of the findings of the commission. Mr Mosley intends to motor to Napier on Sunday, aecompanied by anotber member of tbe commission, Sir James Elliott. Miss Cecilia McKenny, the remaining member is expected to arrive to-day, and Mr C. E. Wynne, tbe secretary, is already in Napier. Tlie Crown Solicitor, Mr N. A. Foden, who is to help in the.conduct of tbe inquiry, will probably reach Napier to-nigbt.
