Annual Meeting of H.B. Branch Tbe annual meeting of tlie Hawke's Bay branch of tho Koyal Society of New Zealand was presided over by the Et. Eev. H. W. Williams, Bkhop of Waiapu. There was a fair attendanee of members. Tbe annual report and balance-sbcct were adopted. It was aimouiu'cd that Mj' Edgar Stead, of Christcburcb, would be visiting Napier and would givo an address on August 5 at the Hawke's Bay Ari Gallery and Muse'iin. Tbe eliairmaii referred to the loss sustained by- the society in the death of tbe late Mr W. Dinwiddie, remarlcing tbat Mr Dinwiddie bad been a former president and a member of tbe 1 couucil for many ycara, It -wag dccided
to send a letter of eympatby to tbe relatives. Tbe election of olficcrs resulted: — President, Dr. G. Waterworth; vicepresident, Dr. A. G. Clark; counciJ, Bisbop Williams, . Messrs C. F. H. Pollock, G. T. Railton, F. S. West, W. B. Stewart, Dr. G. Waterworth and Dr, A. G. Clark; hon. secretary, Mr G. T. EailtOn; acting-secretary, Mr 0. F. II. Polloek; hon. treasurer, Mr If. Chapman; hon. auditor, Mr J. E. Gleaaow; New Zealand Council representativo, Mr G. V. Hudson; representativo 011 Hawke's Bay Art Gallery and Museum, Mossrs E. S. West, G. T. Eaiiton, Dr. A. G. Clark and Bisbop Willianis. The annual report stated: — "The sum of £2 2/- was handed to the museum committee as a contribution to the museum work; and £2 2/was subscribed to the Oockayno Memorinl Fund at Wellington. ' "The membersliip. — This now stands at 68, compared with 80 for the previous year. New members elccted were Messrs A. Morath, lan Edmmidson and W. E. Watson, and five resiguations worc rcceived."
