MILK IN SCHOOLS Napier Dairy Co. to Sttpply Hastings and Napier DAILY HALF-PINT RATION Advlce has been received Hastings that the Departanent w Health has accepted the tender of the Napier Dairy Co. for the ply of milk to the schools in Hastings and Napier. No ®ate has been announeed as to when the free supply of the daily half-pint of milk to the children wriii negin, but the company is immediately to instal the necessary plant and equipanent. In conveying this information to the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, who is also chairman of the Hawke'g Bay Education Board, tlie Director-General of Health, Dr M. H. Watt, wrote that, subsequent to receipt of the reporton the premises and. plant of the two ienderers for the milk-in-schools supply, it had been decided to accept the tender of the Napier Dairy Co. for the supply of milk in both Hastings and Napier. He asked that this information be supplied to both the tendering companies, the Napier JDairy Co. and Hawke'g Bay Frozen Supplies, Ltd. "The preparation of the contract will b© gone into in this oiffice," added the Director-General, and details in connection therewith will be arranged with the suecessful tenderer by direct communication in order that there may be no unnecessary delay. "I understand that the Napier Dairy Co. will proceed with the ordering and installation of the necessary extra equipment immediately," he concluded.
