AUCKLAND, Last Night. A suggestion that she had made entries in a * '.black book" with the idea that later they might be used as evidence, was denied by Mrs. Dorothy Whaley Radley in the divorce case in which the Solicitor-General intervened, Cross-examined this morning, Mrs. Radley admitted that at oue period, while living in Christchurch she kept her brother-in-law's house under surveillance. This was because she had been told that her husband was visiting the house and she knew that a certain young woman was there. One night, when she was in her bother-in-law's garden, she heard Radley taking her farewell of the young ■woman, he said "Biddy, Biddy, see you tc-inorrow. " Mrs Radley denied ever having threatened to commit suicide or that she did any damage to the children. Re-examined by Mr Meredith, witness said that ' she had renionstrated with her husband for hig frjendliness with Mrs "X". "When he returned from a trip he bought a bangle and dress material for Mrs X, but nothing for witness. It was only after she and her husband returned from England that she ascertained that before their departure he had transferred £300 from her account to his own and that the trip was at her own expense. Further hearing was ad journed to . a date to be fixed.
