TREES AT THE CAPE
Planting Proposed on Sunday A further step in the preparation of a plantation at Oape Kidnappers by the Cape Kidnappers Sanctuary Board will be taken on Sunday, when a party of Boy Scouts and pupils of the Napier Boys' High School will visit the Capc to prepare the ground for the planting of the trees. The ground will then be left for a month, and at the end of that time the trees wdll be planted. The party, which will leave Napier by car for the Cape on Sunday, will prepare as much as possible of tho ground, which has already been marked out, returning early in the afternoon owing to the unfavourable tides. A month later the party will again visit the Cape, when the trees, which have been bought by the board and donated by many organdsations, will be planted within the special wire-netting protection. The work has been chosen by the Boy Scouts as their method of commemorating the Coronation. Out of the troop funds they have donated £2 for the purchase of the trees, and have offc'ered their assistance in preparing the plantation and planting the trees. It is hoped to be able to arrange for a launch to take the trees out to the .plantation, to avoid rough handling in transporting them along the beach.
