TWO MAIDS WEAR APPLE-GREEN VELVET
PENMAN — INGRAM Two maids in apple green panne velvet trimmed with gold attended the bride, Doris Madeline, only daughter of Mr and Mrs B. E. lngram., St. Aubyn street, Hastings, at her marnage to Henry, eidest son of Mr and Mrs H. Penman, Oliphant road, Hastings, which was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Hastings, last evening. Large bowls of bright autumn berries and others of arum lilies wero arranged in the church by the bride's friends. The Rev. E,. B. Gosnell officiated at the cereraouy and Miss Napier played the wedding marches and the mpsic for the hymn, "The Yoice That Breathed O'er Eden.'' itich honey-tjnted Empress satin very sunply fashioned was worn, by the bride, who was given away by her father. Tiny eatin-covered buttons were arranged from neck to hem' in the front and also finished the long sleeves which had elight fullness at the shoulders. A lace collar finished the neckline and a posy of orange blossoms was pinned on the long train. She wore satin shoes the same shade as her gown and her veil of embroidered tulle, lent by a friend, wa§ worn with orange blossom coronet. A sheaf of arum lilies was carried. The bridesmaids were? the Misses Edna Morris (chief) and Ng,aire Diamond, and their gowns of apple green panne velvet had cowled raglan sleeves while the neckline was halter style and the corsage slightly gathered in front. The collar eifect with long hariging ends at the back was iined with gold satin, They wore gold girdles, gold kid shoes and smart little gold lace and satin hats. Each maid carried a sheaf of gold and autumn tinted flowers. Mr A. Christie was best man, and Mr CV Pell groomsman. The reception was held at the Ritz, tearooms, the usual toasts being honoured. The lovely three-tiered wedding cake was a gift from. Miss E. Hume. The guests were received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs lngram wore a model ensemble of wine satin- backed crepe with handfaggotted oyster-tinted satin front. She wore a wine velour hat and carried a bouquet in pinky shades, Mrs H. Penman wore a navy blue ensemble with navy hat ftnd accessories, .and her bouquet was in autumn tints. When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon to be spent in the South Island at Queenstown and the Hermitage, the bride travelled in a taiiored nigger brown costume with cream satin blouse. Her fur stole was a gift from the bridegroom and she •wore a brown velour hat and brown accessories. The bridegroom's gifts to the bridesmaids were an amethyst dress ring to the chief maid and a crystal dressing table tray to the second maid.
