Request tp Broadcast Speeches
(By Telegraph-
DUNEDIN, This Day. Apropos the Auckland request for permission to broadcast a mass meeting on the future B' "stations, the ' Hon. F. Jgnes stated. this morning that following an Auckland telegram that sUmmai-y speeches had beeu forwarded by air-mail, a letter ar'riyed contaiiiing merely the list of speakers, with the information that the speakerB had given the gist of their speeches in a few words, but could give nothing further, as they did not use notes. Assurance was given that the speakers would cbnfine themselves to the B station issue, merely voicing the opinion that -the stations should be guaranteed further assistance and allowed to live, as declared in the Government' s election pledges. So far the Minister has not received copies of the speeches as required, and until he does the matter cannot be carried further.
