HARRIER RACING
Napier Club's Road Event The Napier Harriers Club held r.ts annual road race over a six-miles eourse yesterday. A large field faced the starter, each competitor receiving a cheer as he started off. The race was twice round a course along Emerson and Carlyle streets, George's Drive to Ellison street, then on to the Marine Parade, finishing at the Sound Shell. The event resuited in a win for S.« Gollop of the Napier Harrders' Club, ivith E. Johnson of the same club second, followed by Taylor (Hastings), and the scratch man C. Weller, Palmerston North, who secured fastest time. The result was as follows:-— S. Gollop (N) 2mip, 50secs.) ...... 1 E, Johnson (N) (6min. 15secs.) .... 2 T. Taylor (H) (35sees.) 3 C.
