-LIUB ua ,y. Interviewed regarding the health insuranco seheme, Dr. D. G. McMillan, chairman of the Government 's speeial committee, stated that its report had not been considered either by Cabinet or the party, so no authoritative statement could be made. "Those responsible for the schemes of finance will be interested in a statement made on behalf of the professioii that they consider that the capitation fee of £1 to be 50 per cent. too high," he said. "During the last few months one has met praetically all North Island doctors and a large proportion in the south. Everywhere one has found them open minded and very sympathetic towards the principles of health inaurance. ' ' Dr. McMillan added that doubtless the commonsense majority of the profession would cause them to delay criticism until such time as they know what tho Government proposals wore.
