LIMOND COLT
A Derby Prospect The two-yeai'-old colt, Royal Order, who won a seven-f urlong race at Flemington on Saturday, was purchased as a yearling at Trentham by Mrs H. N. Aynsley, of Christchurch, for 550 guineas, an.d had his early education and racing .under A. McAulay, at Riccarton. He was purchased by Mr J. Riehardson, of Dunedin, in the early spring, and remained with McAulay until a few months ago, when he was taken to Melbourne by S. G. W are, who thus had his first success since he resumed traihing, while his apprentice, W. jehkins, also xetUrhed to the wihning list. Royal Ordef i s by Lilhond from Anklet, by Absurd from Bronze, aud is one of the very few Liraond colts in efther Australia or New Zealahd, With the success of Veilmond as a sire, several inquiries were made about this eolt by Australian owners, but Mr Riehardson decided to shelve any idea of seiling him until he tried him out more seriously as a raeehorse. Royal Order is in the Australian and Victoria Derbies and no doubt he will now comc into discussion as & likely Candidate. In his few races in Canterbury he gave the impression that he WOUld develop into a stayer with time, and his success qn Saturday over seven furlongs inust b& cohsidered an encoUraging steppihg stone to higher honours.
