WAR RELIEF
Napier Committee Meets A meeting of the Napier brancb committee of the Ilawke's Bay War Relief Association was lield on Monday. Present : Messrs G. S. V. Wenley (in the chair), H. Steele, T. H. Ringland, Dr H. F. Bernau and the actingsecretary. x A statement of payments and receipts for May, 1937, was placed before the meeting, and this showed that the transactions for the month had been as foliow: — Grants to soldiers (64), £310 11/2; Grants to soldiers (3), £11 15/6; loans to soldiers (8) £63 6/5; total, £385 l'3/l. Loans refunded by soldiers (23), £214 0/1 ; refunds on account of other societies (13), £270; total, £484 0/1. Numeroiis soldiers' cascs were placed before tbe committee and grants amounting to £4 3/10 were authorised.
