STATE THEATRE

MURDER AND AD VENTURE. "Mr Dynamite," by the author of "The Thin Man," is coming to-night to the State Tneatre. This murder mystery, written in Dashiell Hammett's inimitable brisk style, stars Edmund Lowe. Lowe enacts the role of "Dynamite," a detective who is T.N.T. to the police, and who solves three baffling murdera in an amazing fashion. Featured in the cast are Jean Dixon,, noted Broadway comedienne, Verna Hillie, talented screen newcomer, Victor Varconi, Esther Ralston and a host of others. The picture wae directed by Alan' Crosland, It is a Univeraal feature. "Park Avenue Logger," Goorge O'Brien's latest outdoor picture, is the second feature at the State Theatre. Supported by such able players as Beatrice Roberts, Bert Hanlon, Gertrude Short, Willard Robertson and Ward Bond, George O'Brien is cast in the role of a sooial lion who is employed in the New York office of his father, a wealthy lumber magnate. As dissatisfied with his colourless position as the father is with his apparently soft-mannered son, O'Brien manages to be sent to one of the company 's maramoth logging camps, there to learn the logging business from the bottom up.
