The finai gallops of competitors at the Napier Park winter meeting took place yesterday and this mornmg on the Hastings tracks, bufc after the night '& rain the track this morning was not quite so fast as on Monday. How•ever, it was not so hold'ing a.s might be expected. Where not speciiied the triais occurred on the No. 1 inside grass track. Buster Brown (L. D. Berry) and Royal Fcast (H. Young) were companions in a six-furloxig spin on the plough. The former made the pace in ihe early stages, but from the twofurlong post hoine Iioyal Feast simply playea his gallopjng uiate to pass the post well ahead in i.18. Trailer (R, Marsh) and Tres Bec (J. Forsyth), on the same track, went seven furlongs, with Trailer doing it very easiiy all the way and registering 1.34 for the distance. Tommy, Atkins (H. Callinan) nnd Tupai (H. You&g) .wero not outtobreak th§ watches when taking 53sec. l'or half a-milo, also on the plough, Again the plough was used for a working gallop by Royal Bengal (J . Forsyth) and Fikete (D. Cplello) over a rounq in 1,48. Royal Bengal carries a slightly-enlarged knee as the resuit of coming into contact with the brush fence which topped him over on Saturday' morning. Uasman (R. Marsh) was not fuli> extended wheti taking oasec. for half-a-mxle on the plough. His stable mate, Fossicker (J, McNaughton),^ did tho same journey in a secoud less timo. ' Seyiried (I. Briggs) and Agog (B. Stowe) were agsocxated in a sevenfurlong spin to returu the very fair timo of 1.31J, with Agog two lengths clear at the finish. Now that it has rained Agog may not start to-morrow. The above gallops took place yesterday, and the xollowing were thie morning 's triais:— Oletrac (B. Stowe) handlcd the looso going xmpressively when running four furlongs in Slsecs. Lookilig a picture and galloping l'ike a train, Rakanui easiiy ran three furlongs in 37isec., and could have donc bCtter. He was ridden by S. Anderson, who will have the mount oa the Hunting Song horse to-morrow. Shu and Fondy Bay ran throe furlongs in 39sec., but could havo donc better. Shu,_ who will not race until Hastings, pleased. Blygain (R, Marsh) took 64sec. for five furlongs. She handled tho looso gOing all right, and looks well, Gironde (O. Stratton) was responsible for the best short distance gallop of the morning when registering 50see. for four furlongs, His trainer will have the mount to-morrow, Passion Flower (O. Blue Tiger and Trackman wero abreast over five furlongs run in 652 sec. It was not a "cut--throat', affair Wykemist (J. McNaughton) and Marching Song (H. Young) abreast were at least half a dozen lengths ahead of Mercian Prince (E. Deslandes) and Dusky Crown (W. Hepburn) over six furlongs, which took 1,214. For a 'chaser Wykemist went well, and latcr camo (out to give a finished exhibition ' over four of the steeplechase obstacles. On both displays the Royal Stag gelding gained many friends for the Napier Stbeeplechase to-morrow. Shani (J.
