NO INCREASE IN RIVER RATE
This Year's Impost Again to Produce £9000 STOREHOUSE TO BE BUILT A rate to produce £9000, the same as that struck last year, was decided upon. by the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board at its meeting in Napier yesterday afternoon. The motion of the chairman, Mr C. Lassen, to this effect was passed without d'iecussion. Estimates for the coming year presented to the meeting showed expenditure at £12,788, the only unusual itein being one of £1400 for a store and dwelling. The engineer, Mr G. Roch,fort, explained that the equipment df the board .was* scattered all- over tlfjp areas controlled, and that it was necessary to have some large etore. At present a building was rented for £50 a year from the Hawke's Bay County Council for the purpose, and the direct aaving in rental and transport would almoet make up the di'Tjrenco. T Following is a statement of the estimates for the year from April 1, 1937, to March 31, 1938: — EXPENDITURE.
