(Reeeived 8, 11.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, June 7. The death has occurred of Miss Jean Harlow, the film actress, who had been ill with inflammation of the gall bladder. Miss Harlow took ill last week, but on June 4 her doetor stated that she was improving, aUd that, although her malady was painful, it was not dangerous, and he hoped that she would be able to return to work soon. A tuni for the worse occurred to-day after an earlier improvement. Miss Harlow was taken to hosprta' suffering from uremic poisoiiing, whicl. followed gall bladder infection. She lapsed into unconsciousness and- was placed in an oxygen tent. Two blood transfusions and intravenous solutions were administered. She had persisted in working, although she complained of great pain od May 29. She did not want to delay the picture in which she was appearing with Clark Gable. She said; "I will oontinue as long as I can stand on my feet," Miss Jean Harlow, who was recently seen in Hastings in the film "Libelled Lady," was famous as the original "platinum blonde."' She rose to screen
fame as the only female member of thr cast in Howard HughesJ production of '^Hcll's Angels'5 in 1931. From then on her screen eareer was a continued success and ut the time of her death she was earuing 2,500 dollars a week from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. She was married on two oceasions, her first marriage taking place when she was 16 years of age. Among the more important screen roles were appearances in "Dinner at Eight," "Platinum Blonde," "Suzy," "China Scas," "Blonde Boinbshell," "Hold Your Man," "Girl From Missouri," and "Wife v."
