Band Busy Over the Week-End Three outmgs in. 24 koura was the record of the Hastings Citizens' Band during the week-end. On Saturday afternoon the band was ' in attendanco at the military sports, and' in addition to providing a programme of musie tbere on behalf of the .regiment the band took up a collectipn in aid of tbe King George V. Memorial Fund. The resuit was a donation of £2 3/- to that fund. Yesterday morning tbe band was again in luli t'orce for tbe broadeast over 2ZL, Hastings " An mteresting exporimenb was tried m this broadeast,' the band being outside the studio and on the lawn. The experiment was a pronounced success, for the broadeast was a splendid one, and, judging from tbe scores of teiephouic and otbei reports, the reception was excellent and tbe broadeast greatly appreciated. The band's finul- outiug was at Napier yesterday al'ternoon, when a complimentary visit to tbe Napier Regituental Band was paid. A first-class programme, deiightf'ully varied in oharacter, was provided in the Sound Shell on tbe Marine Parade. There was a big attendauce, and a crilection reahsed £4 10/-.
