METHODIST LADIES' GUILD HOLD MONTHLY MEETING
,The attendance was good at the roonthly meeting of the Methodist. Ladies' Guild, which met in the girls' room, where vases of violets and early snowdrops and bowls of late chrysantbemums gave a bright touch of colour. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell presided aud conducted the opening devotions, after which Mrs. P. Loach occupied the chair and welcomed Mrs. C. Clark', who gave a floral display and showed the members how a bridal bouquet was made. As Mrs. Clark deftly placed the greenery and flowers in position and made a beautiful bouquet in autumn tones, she told those present how different flowers need diii'erent treatment and gave many useful little~hints on how to keep cut flowers fresh, and how to blend the various tones and shades. When finished Mrs. Clark presented the bouquet to Mrs. Gosnell, and a pink one which she had brought with her for display purposes she gave to Mrs. P. Loach. On behalf of the members Mrs. C. T. Russell and Mrs. Loach tlianked Mre. Clark for the interesting display and the useful lesson which she had so kindly given. A vote of thanks, earried with acclamation, included the hostesses, 3£esdames Whitehouse, Fearno aud Buckingham, who had provided and dispensed the afternoon tea. . Correspondence received necessitated the calling of a special meeting for June 16. Two new members were received and the Benediction closed the happy gathering.
