CHURCH SERVICES
A St. Matthew's Church to-morrow, the second Sunday after Trinity, tbe Church Army Mission begdns. There will be Holy Communion, with special intention for work among the young, at 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. The 11 a.m. service will bo a family oue, for children and parents. There will be no Sunday School. Children are to come at 11 a.m. In the afternoon there will be a rally for all over 14 years at 4.30, tea to follow. Evensong will he at 7 p.m. Captain David Kee, O.A., the missioner, will be the preacher at all services. The preacher at St. James' will be the Rev. Canon A. Neild. Holy Baptism will be at 3 p.m. There will be no evensong at St. Barnabas. In the Hastings Methodist Church to-morrow, tho morning service will bo i conducted by the Rev. H. J'. 'Odell, chairman of the district, the anthem being f'The God of Abraham Praise." The sacrament of Holy Communion will be administered at the close. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell will be the preacher at the evening service, the subject being "The Spirit of the Age." The Anthem wjll be "Hearken Unto Me." The usual hearty invitation is extended to all who value a hearty form of Christian worship. The Rev. H. A. Jones, who is now on furlough in New Zealand, having) reurned from a very fine term of service in Brahmanbaria, East Bengal, will be th'e special preacher at the morning service to-morrow in the Baptist Church, Karamu road south, and all who appreciate a challenging missionary message by one fully informed on the present-day situation in India, are invited to attend his service. In the evening at seven o'clock, the minister, the Rev. C. B. Boggis will preach on "The Reality of God." The Communion is held aLthe close of the morning service. The choir will be heard in anthems during these gtatherings. To-morrow is the annual thanksoffering day in St. Andrew's Church. The sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be dispensed at the morning service, and at the close of the evening service for those unablo to attend in the morning. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw will conduci both services and will speak in the evening on the subject : "The Things That Satisfy." The evening service will be relayed to St. John's Hall at Mahora. All Presbyterians are urged to remember the love of Christ and to respond in reverent and generous thankfulnes#, Is there within man a divine essence ensuring to him an eternal existenco after death, or is. he in need of a salvation apart from which he would cease to exist lorcver? This question will be answered from the Scriptures in the United Hall, Lyndon road, Hastings, 011 Sunday niglit. when it will be shown that man is in need of salvation, and that being saved from death is predicted upon bolief in the promises of God and obedience to His commandments.
