A LAVISH FILM

A lavish and spectacular musical nlm, with a large number of beautiful girls, is planned for production some time during the summer by London Pilms. It will probably b© called "Lovelies from America," and the story is bein« written by Evelyn Waugh. John Burch and Arthur Wimperi® wull collaborate on the dialogue. _ ^r' Durch, the young actor-drama-tist who played the leading part in his first play, "The Palmist," at the Arts Theatre Club last October, was engaged by Mr Korda after he had read "The Palmist." Mr. Korda was impressed by the na turalnesS and authenticity of much of Mr. Burch 's dialoguo. Mr. Korda bolieves that many Northconntrymen have a particular flair for writing good natural dialogue, and as Mr. Burch comes from Blackpool he should do well. He will concentrate on the more sercous paissages of the scenario, and Mr. Wimperis will look after the lighter side.
