THE ALL-BLACK SIRE

The thriftiness, hardiness and early maturing qualities of the Aberdeen Angus sire are daily gaining him a place of prominonce; the small fal'me'r is using him on his dairy herd to produce vealers of a profitable nature, and the large farmers are .using him on their herds bf doubtful bfeeding to procure calves of that type which will inature early and develop a carcase that will cut up into those small, tender joints in which the fat is well and evenly distributed, and which are in demand by households on account oi the small amount of waste. The butchers throughout the world have, for years, been singing the praises of the Aberdeen Angus cattle, and if the farmers realised the importance of the ' ' All Black ' ' sire for crosslng purposes, the value of their cattle would be doubled. In these days of closer settlement and more intense farming, the farmer should aim at hoeping only the best, as it ct sts less to keep and bring in higher returns. Farmers should not miss an opportunitjT of improving the standard of their herds, and tliis can be dono only by procuring females and sires of good brecding. This opportunity of buyiug stud and run bulls and females will be given on June 24 and 25, when 114 females and 144 bulls will be offered for sale at Btortford Lodge, Hastings.
