Letters to the Editor

ATTRACTIVE INVESTMENT Sir, — I miist say your comment in a sab-leader of June 2 sums up this absorption of, labour question to rightS This country starves for some indnce- . ment and safe passage for private investment, but just here all is dark. As I have mentioned before, the carpet is laid and Conditions ripe to make New Zealand a centre of world investment, but with it all what have we? Our capital flitting away to fairer fields where the voice of labpur is less dogmatic. As you put it, Mr Editor, to create expansion in products commanding a ready sale is all important, but do we not find thrift and energy bled white in support of indolence. Nothing is more disgusting. It is sehooling the people to a level of banditry in all this destructivo taxation. The bounteous sums of borrowed money of yesterday caused grandfather of to-aay to lavish all too much upon. the upbringing of his children with the worst possible result, all aTe become socialistic, but they are soon to xealise too much socialism is but a rotten disease on the industrial life. Our Beputy-Prime Minister, Mr Eraser, in his recent address to the Earmers' Union, was full of j forebod'ings. Why does not Mr Eraser tour Australia where the policy is not Labour but where labour finds a job and all , is business and progress» — - Yours,; etc. W. SISSON. Hastings, June 2/37.
