After two aeroplanes belonging to the Eepublican Steel Corporation had erashed without the occupants being injured, the corporation announcod that it would discontinue the use of planes to drop food to the strike-besieged planc. It is alleged that a sniper's bullet' severed a strut over the head of one pilot. The sheriff and deputies are hunting for the snipers in the underbrush. The strikers who are- surrounding the plant refuse to permit food to be sent to the men working there. Thcrefore, the corporation used planes to drop food supplies to those inside. A message from Little Falls, New Jersey, says that State troopers were summoned as a result of a riot, in which the police were forced to use batons and tear gas to rout 1000 strikers who were attempting to close a laundry plant. More than a score of persons were hurt, including several women, but none were critically injured. A dozen motor-cars were damaged and the windows of the plant were smashed.
