Napier were the winners, the final score heing : NaPier 13, Hastings 12. - Both. teams were evenly matched. The play tbroughout was even, and at times fast, but it was not in any way spectaeular. • Hastings's defence was good, and at half-time they were well in the lead, the score being: Hastings 9, Napier 5. By the end of the match, however, Napier had made good their losses and gained an advantage of one point.
