INTER-CLUB CHESS

Napier v. Hastings A friendly cliess match between tlie mcmbers of the Napier and Hastings Ghess Clubs took place at the Trocadero, Napier, last night. The games were played throughout in a very friendly epirit, but although Napier won by a very substantial margin of points, this was really no criterion of the play, which was in many cases very close. The visitors were entertained at supper by the Napier club, for which hospitality they returned thanks. A return match at Hastings is being eageriy looked forward to. .
