DUNEDIN, This Day. Sentence of 4Jyears' reformative treatment was imposed by Mr Justice Kennedy this morning on Jumsherallee, &ged 34, Indian, a donkeyman, who stabbed jabidaiiee, serang of the vessel : Olive Bank, at Ravensbourne, on April 9. His Honour added that if the cifOumstances warranted such a course the prisoner would doubtless be returned to fndia earlier, Counsel for the accused, in his plea for mercy, claimed that tbe prisoner's Story was more likely that the serang. Who should have been his guide, was really fleecing him, and when he made Un appeal for money for his mother, struck him, also calling him "a pig'» son,'' whieh was a deadly insult to a Mohammedan. The Orown Prosecutor said that Counsel' s attack on the vefacity of the Crown witness was unjustified, and the knifing was an unprovoked aiid atrocious crime. There was not a jot of eyidence to substantiate the accused's story.
