AUCKLAND, Last Night. Another purchasp of a Queen street property has been made by .the Bank oi' New Zealand .to-day. It acquired tlie three-storey building on the east gidc of Queen street above Wellesley streci occupied on the grqund floor by Barr^' and Beale, Ltd,, the Lido Milk Bar anu Cathay House, the seller being Mr. W, H, Bartlett, who once occupied a portion of the premises. The price paiU works out at a little over £600 per foot frontage. The Queen street froitlage is 33 feet and there is a depth oJ S2i fbet. In the middle of last month it wa., announced that the bank had purchaseu a three-storey shop and of6ce buildiiq, on the southern corner of Queen am Swanson streets as a first step towai-;, the erection of a large modern building to replace the one which has housea its Auckland branch for about 70 years. The price was not then disclosed. Its purchase to-day was for the purpose oi' opening a subsidiary branch oflSce.
