AIRWAYS PILOT

Napier Appointment An appointment to the position of co-pilot wjth the Union Airways, at Palmerston North, has been received by Mr. John Peel, of Napier. Mr. Peel, who takes over his dutieg on June 21, has considerable flying experience to his credit, having obtained his B licence for commercial flying. For the past seven years he has been employed at Messrs. Niven and Co.'s, Port Ahuriri, and on the sports field he was a well-known hockey player, Mr. Peel has been a member of the terri+,orial unit of the Hawke's Bay Itegiment for some time past, and has attained the rank of lieutenant. Mr. Peel is a foundation member of the Napier Aero Club, and in recognition of his efforts the club is to tender him a farewell function on June 10.
