SOLWAY OLD GIRLS ENTERTAIN AT DANCE GIVEN AT WAIPAWA

Unique Decorations and Novelties A pale green and silver decoration scheme, the colours of the Central Hawke's Bay branch of the Solway Old Girls' Association, was carried out with splendid effect for their annual ball, which was held in the Municipal Theatre, Waipawa, on Tuesday evening. Long streamers in green and silver extended. from a central hanging basket of native ferns and green and silver flowers out to the walls, when both large and small school insignia (these being the work of Miss Eay Fleming) were hung. Round the hall, forming a square weje suspended ropes of lycopodium strung with numerous twinkling coloured lights, which cast a pretty glow over to dancers, as they twirled round and round to the popular dance music played by Les. Henry's Orchestra. Edging the front of the stage were masses of native greenery and flowers to tone with the other decorations. On the deep blue curtains draping the back of the stage was placcd a large plaque with the letters "S.O.G." in green on a silver background.
